Prior to joining NPBC’s staff, Earnestine worked in banking and insurance. In 2000, she became NPBC’s Vice President of Academic Affairs, and President in 2015. She currently serves on the board of directors for the Emmanuel Christian Academy and Mission ConneXion Northwest. She enjoys gardening, walking, and visiting antique shops.

Kendra Daugherty

BS, Portland State University

Kendra began at NPBC as a student in 2015, and became Administrative Assistant in June 2016. She serves in youth ministry alongside her husband who is a Youth Pastor in Gaston, OR. She enjoys visiting the Oregon coast, is involved in missions, and has a heart for the persecuted church. She and her husband served in India in 2017, and plan to return in 2018.

Holley Clough

Holley comes to NPBC with a 30 yr. career in adult education. She holds a Professional Certification with the International Coach Federation and has published "The Power of Life Coaching." She is an adjunct professor for The King's University and Lipscomb University. She attends Beaverton Foursquare Church with her husband, and enjoys serving on the boards of World Team, Intl. and the Christian Adult Higher Education Assoc.

LaSondra has a passion and drive for teaching the word of God. She is a Youth Pastor at Life Change Church, a Life and Spiritual Coach, and an adjunct instructor at NPBC. She enjoys speaking at conferences and retreats, and desires to empower women to embrace God’s love and understand their self-worth.

Marcia Benedict

Marcia has spent over 30 years as a counselor and teacher in the Portland area. At NPBC, she teaches a series of courses on Christian lay counseling. She enjoys cross-country skiing, travel, learning, and photography. She looks forward to seeing more wonders of this earth that God has created for our enjoyment.

Sean joined NPBC’s faculty in 2014 and the board of directors in 2016. His academic interests include urban church planting, urban studies, exegeting cities, and urban missiology. He attends Door of Hope church, and works for TEAM as the Developer of Urban Strategy and Training. In his spare time he enjoys mountain biking and roasting coffee.

Alan Cushway

Alan is the Teaching Elder at Congregation of the Messiah (KHM), an Elder at Clear Creek Church, and an adjunct instructor at North Portland Bible College. His academic interests include Biblical languages, history, and literature, Hebrew language studies, rabbinic literature, and church history. In his time off, Alan enjoys reading, dog walking and trips to the coast. He is also a military history buff.

Geoff Hartt, D.Miss.

In addition to teaching at NPBC, Geoff serves as the pastor of Stafford Christian Church in Willsonville, OR, and as the academic director of Hispanics for Christ. His academic interests include missiology, hermeneutics, and church history. In his spare time, Geoff enjoys restoring classic sports cars.

Ken Holt

Ken attends Southwest Bible Church in Beaverton, OR. He joined NPBC’s faculty in 2014, and teaches courses in New Testament and Bible Doctrine at NPBC. In his spare time, he enjoys gardening with his wife, especially caring for their rose bushes, reading whenever he can find a few moments, and playing with his grandkids.

Christopher Smith

Christopher attends Trinity Church of Portland where he teaches Sunday School classes for adults and children. He has been an elder, youth leader, and children’s ministry worker. He joined NPBC’s faculty in 2015, and teaches courses in biblical languages. His areas of academic interest include Biblical languages, Biblical Theology, and hermeneutics. He enjoys reading classic literature, hiking, and horticulture.

Shannon Van Horn

Shannon was the first graduate of NPBC’s ACM degree program, and he now serves as an adjunct instructor, teaching English grammar and writing. He also works as a salesman for Comcast Cable. In his spare time, Shannon enjoys bicycling and spending time with his wife and six children.

Devon Citron

BS, MBA, Purdue University

Devon joined the board of directors at NPBC in 2013. He has an extensive background in the business world, in management and consulting. He currently works for Market Parallels, Inc., a consulting firm focused on synthesizing the ideas, strategies, and practices to help them attain new levels of success. In addition to English, he speaks Mandarin Chinese.

Trisa Kelly, Board Chair

Trisa has taught classes at NPBC since 2010, and has served on the board of directors since 2012. She is a project manager for the Multnomah County Health Department, and serves as Assitant Pastor at Maranatha Church. She hopes to one day travel to each continent, and enjoys authentic international cuisine.

Samuel King

Samuel has served on the NPBC board of directors since 2014. He spent twenty years in the United States Air Force, and currently serves as the Youth Pastor at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, and as the Union District Association Nursing Home Director. He has three children, and loves fishing, boating, biking, walks on the beach, and reading the Word of God.

James is Emeritus Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost of Western Seminary. He served as President of North Portland Bible College from 2010 to 2015, and joined the board of directors in 2016. He is an elder and teacher at Hinson Memorial Baptist Church in Portland, OR.
